Chris joined Sandersons in 2009 specifically to launch the Ashford office. We subsequently saw unprecedented growth in Ashford as new customers benefited from the attention to detail and flair that Chris and his team brought to the role. In 2011 Chris moved to our Canterbury office and currently heads up an experienced sales team that has continued to grow year on year. Chris has previously worked in kitchen design, recruitment and as a Procurement Manager for a Kent based property developer.
Why are Sandersons different?
Knowing that my opinion matters is a big reason I enjoy working for Sandersons. Not tying clients into fixed term contracts was an idea I put forward and it was embraced by the Directors. I believe it is one of the key ways we are different to other agents.
I have lived in and around Canterbury for over 30 years and currently live in North Canterbury. I met my wife in 2003 and we have two children who attend Blean Primary School. Although a lot of my time is spent with my family, I have a real passion for sport. Over the years I have particularly enjoyed playing football and squash competitively. Unfortunately following ACL injuries and two knee operations I have had to find other ways to keep fit. Since 2013 I have trained at City Boxing in Canterbury and although I don’t fight competitively, I enjoy pushing myself with this type of training. In 2010 I raised money for the British Heart Foundation by cycling 54 miles from London to Brighton. In May 2016 I took part in a Tough Mudder event to raise money for Dancing Eye Syndrome Support Trust. This is a charity that has helped support and raise awareness of a very rare condition called Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome (OMS), which my niece has been diagnosed with. Tough Mudder is a challenging obstacle course set over 11 miles and I raised £2,321 for the charity. In 2017, accompanied by my wife and two young children I took part in a Colour Me Purple 5k run to raise money for The Wisdom Hospice and we raised £223.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Spend less time worrying about things outside of your own control.
Alex joined Sandersons in 2013 to work alongside Chris Murphy at our Canterbury Branch. Initially his role was focussed around helping buyers find the right property and negotiating offers to get sales agreed. Alex moved across to our Maidstone team at the beginning of 2019 and now he spends most of his time on market appraisals and working with prospective vendors who are looking to put their property on the market. Alex takes great pride in the work he does and his drive and enthusiasm is often complimented on by customers.
Why are Sandersons different?
I joined the team from a corporate background and like Sandersons method of not tying their customers into a fixed term contract. I believe that this goes a long way to show the confidence Sandersons has in its product and staff by not tying its customers in to a lengthy agreement.
I went to school in Canterbury but now live in Ashford. Outside of work, I regularly train at the gym and visit family and friends. I play lead guitar for a band called The Skatonics; they can be found at various festivals throughout the summer and supported Madness at their concert at the Kent Showground in August 2017. This year, my girlfriend and I are looking forward to a holiday in Singapore as well as a road trip across France. What advice would you give your younger self? Mother is usually right.
Lisa started working for Sandersons in September 2017 as a Sales & Lettings negotiator. Lisa has over 15 years of previous experience in the industry, particularly working in Maidstone and the Weald.
Why are Sandersons different?
I really like working for Sandersons as they really do put their clients first and give a first class service.
I live in Loose and have been a Kent girl all my life. I am married and have a 14 year old son. We enjoy boating and getting out in the countryside. My passion is for riding and try and do this when I can.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Enjoy your youth and be more adventurous while you can.
Matt graduated from Canterbury Christchurch University in 2013 with a degree in Photography. He also holds an Adobe Certified Associate qualification for the use of Photoshop. Since Matt began photographing properties in 2014, he has photographed a wide range of homes for estate agents and property developers. He is a qualified domestic energy assessor and drone operator, he also produces video tours and designs marketing material. What do you like most about Sandersons’ approach? It is refreshing to work for an agent that has such a straight-forward approach and to work with colleagues that are all working as part of a team.
Holding a camera or with some sort of board on his feet
My personal photographic work has been selected for a number of competitions, it was most notably featured in the Royal Photographic Society 'International Print Competition', as part of it was included in a touring UK exhibition. I also held a solo exhibition in Broadstairs, Kent. Aside from undertaking my own photography, I enjoy snowboarding and skateboarding. I also have a passion for travelling, in 2016 I went on a trip around the world. In my spare time I go snowboarding at the local dry ski slope, go skateboarding or spend time with my girlfriend. What advice would you give to your younger self? Do what you enjoy because life is short.
