Kay joined Sandersons in early 2014 as a sales and lettings administrator, having been in the industry for 9 years. Whilst she had undertaken various roles within a corporate setting, from negotiator to valuer, the rapid and successful expansion of sales within the Canterbury branch created a need for a dedicated sales progressor. Communicating with a wide array of clientèle during every transaction, her aim is to make sure that exchange of contracts is obtained swiftly, whilst keeping vendors and purchasers up to date throughout. She also provides valuable administrative support for our Lettings team.
Why are Sandersons different? Having spent a great deal of time working for a national estate agency, I have found Sandersons to be a breath of fresh air. Management encourage ideas to be put forward to help improve the business from a customers viewpoint, and we really do try to be different in our approach. A key factor of this is, not tying in any of our vendors to a fixed term agency agreement and letting our hard work and results do the talking - something that is missing from the corporate sector where clients can be treated as cash cows.
I live in Faversham having spent most of my childhood growing up on the North Kent Downs. After 10 years together I finally walked up the aisle with my husband whom I have known since early childhood. Fast-forward 7 years and I now have two young boys which keep me busy and a mad cocker spaniel called Baxter. In my 'spare time' I love to escape as a family to the continent and enjoy the local cuisine and explore the history behind the country. One of my more memorable trips was to Italy, encompassing; Venice, Florence, Rome and Pompeii - that was an anniversary present to remember!
What would I tell my younger self?
Don't sweat the small stuff!
Michelle has worked as an Accounts / Office Administrator within the Lettings Industry for 12 years and joined Iconn a year ago to oversee both the client and management accounts as well as the general day to day running of the office. iConn merged with Sandersons in March 2018 so we are really excited to have someone with Michelle's experience and attention to detail as part of the team.
What do you like about Sandersons Approach?
I like the Sandersons / Iconn approach as together we are a team that works hard, plays hard but continuously strives to the best we can be, providing a first class service to all our clients, with a smile!
I moved from London to Herne Bay 12 years ago and currently live on a farm with my Partner and youngest Son. I have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. I love family time! Get togethers with my children and grandchildren, eating, drinking, laughing and generally talking rubbish. At the weekends I like to go for walks along the beach or to the woods with my Partner and 2 dogs, Mollie the Pomski and Daisy the Terrier. I enjoy holidays abroad. Anywhere hot! My ideal holiday consists of lying in the sun being waited on, simple, but loving life!
What advice would you give your younger self?
Always be true to yourself.
Matt graduated from Canterbury Christchurch University in 2013 with a degree in Photography. He also holds an Adobe Certified Associate qualification for the use of Photoshop. Since Matt began photographing properties in 2014, he has photographed a wide range of homes for estate agents and property developers. He is a qualified domestic energy assessor and drone operator, he also produces video tours and designs marketing material. What do you like most about Sandersons’ approach? It is refreshing to work for an agent that has such a straight-forward approach and to work with colleagues that are all working as part of a team.
Holding a camera or with some sort of board on his feet
My personal photographic work has been selected for a number of competitions, it was most notably featured in the Royal Photographic Society 'International Print Competition', as part of it was included in a touring UK exhibition. I also held a solo exhibition in Broadstairs, Kent. Aside from undertaking my own photography, I enjoy snowboarding and skateboarding. I also have a passion for travelling, in 2016 I went on a trip around the world. In my spare time I go snowboarding at the local dry ski slope, go skateboarding or spend time with my girlfriend. What advice would you give to your younger self? Do what you enjoy because life is short.

Alex joined Sandersons in 2019 as our Senior New Homes Manager. She brings with her a wealth of property experience and is thoroughly enjoying working for an independent Estate Agent with a focus on customer service.
Why are Sandersons different?
The difference for me from working for a corporate to an independent is amazing, all the team are team players and all help each other out in the office and always put the customer first- the only down side is my waistband is getting larger due to all the treats our clients bring in for us!
I started in March 2019 as a New Homes Manager. Even though I am new to this role I have been in estate agency for over 13 years starting as a trainee negotiator and working my way up to Assistant Regional Manager.
In October 21017 I became a mum and was very lucky to have a year maternity. I decided I did not want to work full time so went back to my old position part time. I was then made redundant which in hind sight was the best thing that ever happened to me as it gave me a new opportunity with Sandersons and I love my role. I get to work with developers, the general public, gain new business opportunities and see sales through to completion. The difference for me from working for a corporate to an independent is amazing, all the team are team players and all help each other out in the office and always put the customer first, only down side is my waistband is getting larger due to all the treats our clients bring in for us. In regards to hobbies when I get time to myself I like to go to my spin classes but my main enjoyment is spending time with my family and going on our family adventures from weekends away at Peppa Pig world to days out at Leeds Castle feeding the swans. Of course I love my holidays even
though they have changed now I have a toddler, gone are the days of a cocktails and a sun lounger.
