Joe joined the Sandersons’ team as Head of Block Management in our Canterbury office in 2018, after working on the merge of iConn with Sandersons. Joe studied Estate Management at Harper Adams University, he started his career as a Property Manager in rural Kent. He moved to London to take the position of Asset Manager at Neritum UK, where he was responsible for the team that looked after the company’s real estate assets. He successfully reduced the budgeted spend in London, and implemented a number of management systems to work in a proactive rather than reactive manner. He then helped to implement these systems with teams in Dubai, Thailand and Canada. After returning to Kent and a few years out of the property industry, Joe worked as a business consultant, working successfully with companies in a wide range of industries including; Property, Transportation, Pubs, Hair Dressing, Equestrian and Agriculture.
What do you like most about Sandersons’ approach?
Sandersons’ offers a comprehensive service with a real personal feel for our clients, creating fantastic relationships between us and them, ensuring a service that is effective and gets the best results.
I was born in Kent, and lived here for 23 years before moving to London, I missed the countryside though and moved back to the village I was born in after a few years. Outside of work, I am the Chairman of The Kent Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs Charity. I spend most of my free time with my flock of sheep, Ivor my horse or my dogs Sid and Polly.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
‘It will be fine’
Sandersons first joined Sandersons in 2008 as a Property Manager having previously worked for a corporate estate agent. During her 5 years here she progressed to Senior Property Manager and gained the NFOPP level 3 award in Residential Lettings and Property Panagement. Hazel left the team in 2013 to raise her young family.
Whilst away, Hazel worked part time as an inventory clerk before re-joining the Sandersons Property Management team in February 2018. We are so delighted that Hazel came back to join our team after some time off with her family and brings with her a broadened Lettings knowledge from working as an inventory clerk.
What do I like most about the Sanderson approach?
We are a fun loving team and everyone’s opinion is valued. We are able to offer a service tailored to the individual needs of our customers without the constraints of a corporate environment.
I met my husband in the year 2000, we live near Sittingbourne and have 2 young children who keep me very busy when I am not at work!
In my spare time I help run a local Beaver scout group for 6-8 year olds. I try to be as active as possible and attend a local boot camp. I also love days out with my family as well as “wine and takeaway” evenings with friends.
Lorraine has overseen the client accounting for Sandersons landlord clients since joining the team in 2009. She is extremely knowledgable with a wealth of experience in Lettings and managing our landlord accounts. Why are Sandersons different? I like that Sandersons like to get to know their customers and offer a competent, friendly and knowledgeable service.
I have lived in Sittingbourne all of my life. I have three grown up children and two adorable grandchildren. I’m passionate about spending time and days out with all of the family and taking long costal walks with my partner Simon. I enjoy horse riding and Pilates and also like to join my friends and family at a local pub to enjoy the bands. I actively follow The Duellers, a 9-piece Jamaican Rhythm and Blues band. What advice would you give your younger self? Everything happens for a reason; without mistakes and failure you would never learn. Be grateful and surround yourself with positive, happy people. Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.
Laura started working for Sandersons in the summer of 2014. She has a huge amount of experience and has now progressed to Senior Negotiator in the Maidstone Branch. Laura has a wealth of knowledge and particularly excels in Lettings. Laura will conduct viewings, find suitable tenants, liaise with Landlords about their requirements, prepare property details for marketing and negotiate the terms of the let.
Laura has been a fantastic asset to the team and is currently keeping busy very on maternity leave with her twins - one of each! We are delighted that she returned in November 2019 to support our Block Management team.
What is Sandersons difference?
Sandersons concentrate on the finer details which provides consistency and accuracy, particularly when producing property details.
I live local to Maidstone and have worked in the area since leaving school. When I'm not working I spend my time in the countryside with my 2 dogs (pictured) and my partner Charlie. Recent holiday include city breaks to Budapest, Krakow, Marrakech and Amsterdam and more relaxed ventures to Mauritius and Cape Verde. Socially I enjoy live music, especially in the summer months when I like to attend as many music festivals as possible!
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don't ever dye your hair black (it takes years to correct!) and trust your gut instinct more, it's not often wrong!
